Project 1: Poetic Journey Structure - Spatial Translation

Project Brief

Project 1 is a group project with an individual component. In groups of eight students, the task is to romanticize a rainforest and translate it into an intriguing narrative that will then be transformed it into two individual standalone Poetic Journey Structure (concentric and linear). As part of the learning and design process, students are required to do some research on the main subject matter which is “the rainforest”, conduct two poetic architecture precedence studies, do a site visit and analysis of a poetic building, identify the different types of poetic spaces, recognize the “modifying elements”, understand the characteristic of a concentric and linear layout and understand what makes a good poetic spatial architecture.
